About Us

Malahat Properties was established in 2006 as a property development and consultancy business.  The company works with landowners, developers and occupiers to acquire, develop and dispose of commercial land and property.


A focus of the company’s activities has been local retailing, acquiring stores for the Co-op, Sainsbury’s and Tesco and developing stores for the Co-op and Aldi through a joint venture.


More recently, the company has been procured through Bloom to act for Cheshire East Council’s strategic land development company, leading on the disposal of some of the Council’s most valuable land assets and acting as commercial lead in the delivery of the Council’s strategic housing sites at Handforth and South Macclesfield.


The sole director of Malahat Properties is Geoffrey Dyson.


Geoffrey graduated in Urban Land Economics in 1987 and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1988.  He worked as a development surveyor for J Sainsbury plc ibefore moving to Canada to work firstly in private practice then for the Provincial Government of British Columbia.  Back in the UK, he headed up the acquisition and development team at United Co-op before setting up Malahat in 2006.


Geoffrey has considerable experience of acquiring, disposing of and developing commercial property.  He has a reputation for thoroughness and perseverance that have helped him to deliver successful results in many complex projects.
